A Pacific coastal winter storm with high seas, high winds and high tide, perfect conditions for this gigantic wave momentarily engulfing Amphitrite Light situated on the Wild Pacific Trail in Ucluelet BC.
The original 1906 lighthouse was swept away by a tidal wave in 1914. The current lighthouse was built shortly after and has survived the onslaught of numerous winter storms.
